I am currently using two mods by Psionic Vision, that I really need, they are why I haven't updated to 3.8.x.
I am wondering if these mods may already be compatible with 3.8.x or if they could easily be ported by someone. I PMed the original author, but I have not gotten any response.

(Although the only feature I need from the mod is the ability for an Administrator to set the poster username and post date when making or editing a post.)
Post in the threads and ask. But first, read the full thread because many times users are nice and will post about whether it worked for them on later versions.
(Taking a quick look, it looks like both will work but will require you to modify them to work correctly.)

What I'll probably have to do is break down and just do the upgrade, install these, and beat on all of it until it works right, and if it doesn't, revert.
Thankfully, my site is only heavily trafficked between January 15th and March 15th, so I have the rest of the year to do this sort of stuff.
